Pub Quiz Success for Homeless in Bristol
Following last year's closely fought Llangarron 'Pub' Quiz in the village hall, last night's Village Quiz Evening (Thurs 1st March 2012) was held in a real pub, namely the Royal Arms, Llangrove.
Given the significance of the date, a complete section of the quiz was dedicated to questions relating to St David's Day! Plus, there were 25 "Davids" to identify on a sheet of photos.
Nine teams took part in what proved to be a very competitive but friendly evening. It was a very closely fought quiz with the "Gas Bags" winning by a whisper at the final question!
Thanks to Vicky, Ellie and their staff, the Royal Arms provided a truly authentic pub atmosphere with the advantages of full bar facilities. Several participants enjoyed an excellent supper beforehand. We were very well looked after!
The profit of £200 plus gift aid will be donated to the Huggard Centre for the Homeless in Cardiff www.huggard.org.uk, this being the chosen Charity of Tony and Val Sullivan who organised what proved to be another competitive but enjoyable evening.
