Following the popular display of birds of prey at Llangarron Fete two years ago, Black Mountains Falconry is performing again on Saturday 4th July at Langstone Court. Life-long hawking expert, Roger James, will be demonstrating his English setter and spaniel cross working with “Bramble”, a 5-year old female hawk.

Roger is also bringing a falcon to show the different ways in which the two birds hunt. The use of dogs to find and flush game for hawk or falcon, particularly in dense cover, dates back to the 14th century. So that everyone has a chance to see this fascinating spectacle, there will be two demonstrations at 1.45pm and 3.00pm.

Other star attractions include a jam-packed programme of puppet shows, balloon modelling, circus skills and magic shows by Jenny-Any-Dots and the Garron Brook duck race. Along with the traditional stalls, games, amusements and refreshments, there is also be a mountain bike skills course by Pedalabikeaway, the Golden Goal manned by the Garway U11’s FC coaches and a fire engine. Berry Hill Brass Band is providing the music and Whitchurch School Performance Choir is performing a medley of songs.

Entrance is £1 for adults (children 16 years and under free). The Fete runs from 1.00-5.00pm - please join us for an afternoon of traditional family fun.
